Radio Control: Electrics
TWO JUNE MEETS have been announced. First up is the seventh annual Lehigh Valley RC Society (LVRCS) Electric Fun Fly scheduled for June 18-19 at Easton, Pennsylvania. This is an excellent meet, and I'm happy to see it back on a two-day schedule. Write Ellis Grumer at 321 Aurora St., Phillipsburg NJ 08865 for details. Next up is the second annual Kansas City Regional Electric Meet scheduled for June 25-26. Please contact Dick Hinckle at 6406 E. 140th Terrace, Grandview MO 64030; Tel.: (816) 763-7207 for details.

THIS MONTH I'll cover three meet announcements, April errata, understanding brushless motors and controllers, a prop mount suggestion, battery accessories, and more speed control information. The Fourth Annual Southeastern ElectriFly is scheduled for Saturday, June 4 near Dallas, Georgia. The meet is sponsored by the North Georgia Flying Circus club, and member Gene Norman wrote a nice letter telling all about it. The meet will feature Pylon racing, Climb and Glide, slow and fast flying competitions, plus open flying. Attendance has been growing at the rate of about 30% per year, and you can add to that. Details are available from Gene at 1031 Pinecrest Drive, Forest Park GA 30050-3334; Tel.: (404) 960-0863, or call Mike Green at (404) 386-5016.

THIS MONTH I'll look at a range of reader input, some significant industry news, and the nature of speed control operational adjustments. What's rewarding about writing this column is reader input. It's also rewarding that readership is rapidly expanding; new names continually appear in my mail, in addition to the regulars. New readership continues to produce theme mail-repeat topics I've seen come in steadily over the years. One theme is the difficulty that is best characterized as "I'm the only one. . ."

THIS COLUMN has two meet announcements, one Electric Connection, June errata, more new info on motor control efficiency, Astro's philosophy on the brush/brushless scene, a neat new Astro V/I meter, Baylor Electric Products news, flying my own Aveox motor, and an introductory look at the Joamr Mini Max and Lofty Pursuits speed controls. The Westmoreland (PA) Electric Soaring Society (WESS) annual Electric Fly-In is August 14. Details are still in development but they'll be firm by the time you read this. Check with the CD: George Minnear, 118 Jay Drive, Verona PA 15147; Tel.: (412) 793-3965. Everything you need to know about the '94 Fifteenth KRC Electric Fly is available in a six-page mailer from the Electric Fly Manager: Rich Samuels, 716 Shadywood Drive, Perkasie PA 18944; Tel: home (215) 257-5593; work: (215) 822-3238, ext. 2456.

THIS MONTH'S topics include two meet announcements, an amazing story, a perceived Electric contradiction, Electric CL, and some thoughts on Electric competition events. On October 1-2, the Dallas Electric Aircraft Fliers sponsor the Eighth Annual DEAF Electric Fly-In at the Dallas RC Field. CD Frank Korman tells me that this year's activities include LMR (Limited Motor Run) 7-Cell Sailplane, LMR 7-Cell Old-Timer, Longest Flight, and a Rise-Off-Water event on Saturday, concluding with an eat-in at a local spot.
