RC Helicopters
The 2002 Radio Control Helicopter Nationals featured 45 entrants, good weather, and notable performances, particularly by young pilots. Alan Szabo Jr. excelled in Class III, while Curtis Youngblood won F3C. Scale competition faced low participation. Thanks were given to judges and helpers for a successful event.
RC Helicopters
The 2001 RC Helicopters Nationals saw 49 competitors, with highlights including increased participation from youth and West Coast pilots. Weather delays were significant, but contestant judging improved. Chip Hyde won Class III, while Curtis Youngblood secured victory in F3C. Scale class showcased high-quality workmanship.

The 2021 RC Helicopter Nationals saw 48 competitors, good weather, and new judging methods. Highlights included Curtis Youngblood's F3C win and a 600% increase in Scale entries.

WELCOME TO THE 2003 Radio Control Helicopter Nationals
(Nats) contest coverage. As I have done in all of my past reports,
I’ll leave out the statistics (those are someplace else in this issue).
I’ll cover some of the highlights, but this year I’m going to add a
twist.
Radio Control: Helicopters
COMPETITION was good. It was very tight even in FA1. For instance, Curtis Youngblood normally doesn't have to fly the last round, but he did this year. Nothing against Curtis-he's the pilot's pilot-but he has set the bar very high, and fliers are getting closer to him. And I don't feel that there was a "gimme" in any class. The quality of flying was up overall. The Nats was interesting because it was the first time we had contestant judging
