District II Report - 2005/05

MANY CLUBS and members in District II
work hard to introduce model aviation to
those in our communities. In 2005, I want to
step up our efforts to help support our clubs
that engage in these types of programs.
I’ve asked Tim Pease, the driving force
behind the Oswego Valley Modelaires
Hawks youth program, to step in as our new
District II Education Coordinator and head up
this endeavor. Tim will develop an
education/training resource library as part of
our district Web site.

n 2006 the Internal Revenue Service
(IRS) created new rules requiring all
nonprofit organizations to begin filing
annual tax forms. Failure to file the
appropriate forms would put an
organization at risk of losing its taxexempt
status.

President’s Perspective - 2008/05

In my May column I began to outline
several programs that AMA has created
and made available to our members and
chartered clubs as benefits of membership. I
wrote about the AMA Ambassador Program,
our new Take off And Grow (TAG) Program
first released in 2007, AMA’s Introductory
Pilot Program, our Flying Site Assistance
Grant Program, and the AMA Youth
Education Stipend (YES) Grant.
