District II Report - 2005/04
HAVE YOU VISITED the District II Web
site lately? The site’s URL is
www.amadistrictii.org.
Features include a virtual District Event
Calendar. Members can enter their own
event information directly to the calendar.
Unlike the AMA Contest Calendar, which is
limited to only AMA-sanctioned events, the
district calendar is available for posting
information regarding any event—
sanctioned or not.
District II Report - 2004/06
ANOTHER LONG WINTER is almost
over here in District II and I’m sure we’re
all looking forward to the upcoming flying
season. So you don’t forget too soon what
we’ve just been through, I thought this
picture sent by Ken McCaughin would be a
good way to start this month’s column.
The growing world of first-person view model aviation - 2012/08
www.ModelAviation.com AUGUST 2012 Model Aviation 143
First-person
view (FPV) flight
involves flying a
radio-controlled
aircraft while
viewing the flight
through a set of
goggles or with
a monitor that
simulates the
pilot’s view, as if he or she were
sitting in the cockpit. It’s hard to
describe FPV modeling as a new
technology, but in relation to a
number of other modeling disciplines,
it is still considered by many to be in
its infancy.

President's Perspective - 2010/11
As many already know, Jim Cherry
left AMA at the end of August. We
wish him well as he rejoins his
wife, Lynn, in Panama City, Florida.
Jim was hired in 2006 and served as our
Executive Director (ED). During his tenure he
brought innovation to the Academy. His
League of Cities program has introduced
hundreds, if not thousands, of community
officials to model aviation.
