Flying for Fun - 2004/10

I’VE NEVER ENCOUNTERED a subject of such extensive
historical interest and with so much available material as Reginald
Denny. The story of him and his modeling activities begs to be told
in more detail than is possible in one or two columns, so I’ve
chosen to cover the story in multiple columns. I hope this subject
has retained your interest, as early response mail seems to indicate.

THE HUGHES H-1: It would be superfluous and redundant to
review Howard Hughes’ history here. Among his numerous
interests was flying. He caught the speed-record bug in 1932 by
flying a highly modified Army pursuit airplane to several records
and winning several races.

Flying for Fun - 2006/02

THIS MONTH’S column is the second part
of what I wrote for the December 2005 issue;
it will center on electric-powered RC models.
I had originally intended to include text about
and photos of George Sauer’s electricpowered
Senior Telemaster with material
about the foamie 3-D models and comments
on outrunners, but I ran out of space.
