My last column covered some basic thought processes necessary to go through diagnosing a problem with our electric systems. I’m going to continue that thread with a focus on some common problems.

We all run into problems now and then. It doesn’t matter if you’re new to electrics or have been doing it for years. The key is knowing how and where to look for the things that might be contributing to the problem. You don’t need to be an engineer, but it helps to have a plan and be organized.

The very first thing that hit me when I opened the shipping box was how perfectly the airplane was packed for shipping. The Styrofoam box inside a display carton, inside a double-walled shipping box, ensured that the gouges and bruises on the outside box didn’t affect the contents. Whoever designed the airplane was a very smart person, but whoever designed the foam shipping box had his or her own touch of brilliance.
Sig Kadet Senior Sport EG 2014/07
I have high expectations for a product from Sig Manufacturing Company because of its long history of quality products. It was no different this time when my giant Sig box arrived with the new Kadet Senior Sport ARF. I shook the contents out of the coffin-size box and immediately began inspecting everything. The quality of the covering was excellent and the construction looked impeccable.
Electrics 2014/06
I’ve received much mail asking about parallel charging and whether or not it’s safe. Other questions focused on not being able to parallel charge at the rate the charger is supposed to support. Both of these topics boil down to a little education, and I hope to do just that.
