District V Report - 2003/09
SEVERAL CLUBS are honored this month
as our Club of the Month. The AMAC,
Airmasters Model Airplane Club, formerly
the Albany Model Airplane Club, was begun
before World War II. It is one of the oldest
clubs in America. AMAC sponsored a big flyin
on its Lee County field. I was there all day.
District V Report - 2003/08
I ATTENDED the Spartanburg Sky Knights’
spring competition fun-fly at the club field. I
was there part of two days. The weather had
been very bad all week, but when I arrived on
Saturday, the weather was perfect.

I ATTENDED the Western Carolina RC
Spring Fun-Fly at Greenville, South
Carolina. The Western Carolina RC club
was host and sponsor of the affair.

I ATTENDED the Tampa Radio Control
Aircraft Club’s (TRAC) WMWA Spring
Rally. The new World Miniature Warbird
Association (WMWA) is a 400-plus group of
modelers who build and fly military aircraft
of all sizes—scale or semiscale—in memory
of the airplanes and pilots who flew them.

MY LIFELONG friend George Perryman
passed away unexpectedly. George was an
active Associate Vice President for Free
Flight. We’ll all miss you, George.
George’s replacement will be Manny
