E-Jets International - 2010/03
THE SUCCESS OF electric power systems
has been a source of rebirth, in many ways, to
aeromodeling. This technology’s development
has excited new and old enthusiasts about
trying it and, in doing so, has either
permanently hooked them on the activity or
re-established their wonderment about
aviation that went dormant long ago for one
reason or another.

... the wonderful side effect we should all remember.
"Go outside and play!” is what
my mom and dad always
told me if I spoke the phrase
“I’m bored.” A friend of
mine with military experience tells me that “I
have nothing to do” is the last thing a drill
sergeant should ever be told. That my
parents told me to go outside is probably a
lot nicer than what a drill sergeant might
have made me do.
The Inside Loop - 2008/04
Whatever happened to the saying,
“If you have nothing good to say,
then say nothing at all”? I
remember growing up in Middle America
during the ’60s and hearing that very thing
often from my mother, trying to impress on
me that there’s no good in negative
reinforcement.
Plane Talk: Top Flite AT-6 Texan Gold Edition ARF - 2010/02
A great warbird to campaign in AMA Fun Scale
THE NORTH American AT-6 Texan was
dubbed a trainer—more correctly, a fighter
trainer. The distinction separates those aircraft
that are easy to fly from those that are easy to
replace, in case a student playing fighter
games totally loses respect for the aircraft.

... a Texan always brings a smile ...
Once upon a time, a little boy
venturing around a local airfield,
not far away from his father who
was doing a walk-around of a beloved
Cherokee 140, stared intently at a monster
aircraft tied down in the high grass. From
his viewpoint, it was ominous. Today I’m
still that little boy.
