RADIO CONTROL SCALE - 2004/09

THIS YEAR MARKED the Toledo R/C
Expo’s 50th anniversary under the leadership
of the Toledo (Ohio) Weak Signals club; a
great committee oversees the yearly April RC
trade show. More than $5,000 was donated to
the AMA Scholarship Fund this year in a
ceremony at the conclusion of the event on
Sunday. AMA President Dave Brown accepted
the check on behalf of all AMA members.

Top Gun 2004 - 2004/09

IF THEY CARRY on for several years,
Scale contests and events usually change and
improve. The Top Gun Invitational
Tournament started in 1989 at a regional field
in Florida. It was moved to Mesa, Arizona,
the next year, and it arrived at the polo club at
West Palm Beach, Florida, the following year
and stayed until 2001.

I’VE hIt a wall with my flying this year. Not long ago, I went
to the field and realized, after ditching two airplanes, that I was
so out of practice from working so much
(you know, that thing you have to do so you
can fly) that I had lost some depth
perception.
Now it’s back to making sure I go to the
field at least three times a week and getting
myself back together. It seems like most of
us are either working more than we want or
having a devil of a time finding a job, much
less a career.
