I’d like to start off this month by saying thank you for your support in giving me the honor of serving another term as the District VII vice president. I just can’t overemphasize my appreciation for being afforded this privilege.

It’s hard to believe that fall has snuck up on me so quickly this year. Not to wear out a phrase, but it really does seem like it was yesterday that I was dusting off my airplanes, tightening covering, and getting ready for a new season.

Hello again! As you might suspect, FAA issues remain a center of focus for AMA Headquarters and the AMA Executive Council. At our summer meeting, much time and energy was devoted to this issue.

Hello again, everyone. As of this July 1 writing, as I’m sure most have you have heard by now, we’ve had a very disappointing development in the FAA’s interpretation of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft.

I hope everyone has been enjoying the flying season so far. There may be parts of the country where the season lasts longer, but I believe that when the sun warms and the skies turn blue, there’s no finer place to fly than right here in the Midwest.
