Assisting and working with Dave Jones to
get a flying field, I found him to be a most
persistant, determined, dedicated, and
persuasive individual addressing the task.

Manatee Club in Florida.

DOING MORE THAN TALK: Staying
in contact with Waste Management Inc.
headquartered in Houston, Texas, for the
last five years and keeping them abreast of
the EPA/AMA Superfund Projects and
modeling developments for the use of
landfills for model flying sites is proving
to be fruitful. Waste Management has
always been understanding and
cooperative toward our needs.
Flying Site Assistance - 2003/07
THE MAY 2003 issue of Model Aviation, “Finding and
Keeping Fields” detailed the activity and program during the
National Parks and Recreation Congress held in Florida. I
participated and had the pleasure of meeting George Jenkins,
president of the Sarasota Radio Control Squadron, during the
Product Review 2003/06
UPON RECEIPT OF the cartons
containing the Hangar 9 Taylorcraft’s parts,
I was impressed with the attractive and
sturdy packaging. The outside carton had
been badly damaged during shipment, so I
opened it—while holding my breath—to
find no damage to the model components
because everything was efficiently packed.
All parts were bagged, ranging from the
largest piece to the smallest hardware. Save
the box; the pictorial renderings around it
are helpful for referencing details during
construction.
Flying Site Assistance - 2003/05
I HAD the opportunity to attend the 2002
National Recreation and Parks Association
annual meeting held in Tampa, Florida,
October 16-20, 2002. The convention has an
attendance of approximately 10,000 people
consisting of parks and recreation officials
from all over the United States. They
scheduled us for an on-site seminar. Jim
Slaughter organized and coordinated the
program admirably.
