District X 2014/02
I attended the Central Valley Radio Control Club’s (CVRC) Fall Soaring Festival held in Visalia, California. CVRC was formed in 1970 for the purpose of promoting RC Soaring. This was the club’s 43rd annual event.
District X 2014/01
I attended the US Scale Masters Championships, held October 10-13 at the Woodland-Davis Aeromodelers field in Davis, California. I’ve always admired the building skills shown in these Scale models. The level of detail is museum quality. After spending hundreds of hours crafting these jewels, they throw caution to the wind and fly them. This is all done in the pursuit of exactly replicating the appearance and flying style of their full-scale brethren.
District X 2013/07
I recently was invited to two multirotor
events in our district. The first was
held at the Palomar R/C Flyers field
in Fallbrook, California. The inagural
Multirotor Challenge was organized
by Innovative Designs (www.
innov8tivedesigns.com). This was a large
event with 52 participants and twice as
many spectators. Vendors were out in
force, showing off the latest equipment
for multirotor aeromodeling.

The 2013 AMA Expo has come and gone. If you were there, I’m sure you had a great time. The exhibitors and speakers made the three-day event great.
