Free Flight Duration - 2007/08

THIS YEAR marks the 40th anniversary of the National Free Flight
Society (NFFS): the SIG for all types of FF, indoors and out. This
also marks the 40th Symposium report. This publication’s purpose is
to “Promote and encourage the investigation, discussion, and
documentation of the technical and theoretical side of free flight.”

FREE FLIGHT DURATION - 2003/12

FOR 22 JUNIORS the Free Flight
Nationals (Nats) started a day early. The
special Juniors-only contest was held the
Sunday before the official start of the Free
Flight Nats, which was held July 28-August
1. This seven-round contest, along with
performances at two America’s Cup
contests and at the Nats itself, would
determine the United States team members
to compete at the Junior World

the Year featured in the 2007 National Free Flight Society (NFFS)
Symposium.

Free Flight Duration - 2004/06

IN A FREE FLIGHT model, weight is at a premium. There is no
room on the scale to overengineer each part with excess wood. No
matter what kind of adhesive you use for construction, it will add
weight. Sloppy joints filled with excess glue add weight and take
away strength. One often-overlooked glue joint on our models is
the one between the wing ribs and the trailing edge.
