District VIII 2014/06
Here it is June already and we are halfway through another year. I have gotten several requests for specific coverage in the magazine. If anyone wishes to submit content, please send me the write-up in Word format and pictures separately. The photos should be the original, full-resolution pictures. Please do not compress or resize them.
District VIII 2014/05
By now, the weather is warmer everywhere within the district, the cold has passed, and we are all happy to get out to the nearest field to fly and test out our newest creations. For some of us, the winter weather was mild, but for others, not so much. Things to do before your first flight of the season include checking batteries, and on older aircraft, check the links, servos, and all electronics.
District VIII 2014/04
In January, the annual AMA Expo took place in Ontario, California. This year was again an outstanding event put together by AMA staff. Lots of visitors attended and there were many vendors showing new stuff. I tried not to spend too much money on stuff since I always fly there, but I ended up buying a new 20cc gas model from Aerobeez.
District VIII 2014/03
December and January seem to be slow months for events in District VIII. I have started to fill my schedule for the year and am looking at events that I plan to attend.
District VIII 2014/02
Now that is has gotten colder, most of us have been working on new projects for the coming year. Hopefully, by the time the weather has warmed up and I get to fly without a jacket on, I will have my 600 size helicopter inside of the military MF500 body I got last year. It should be fun to bring out and fly at some heli events.
