IN EARLY JANUARY the AMA
Frequency Committee met to discuss
several issues. I’ll cover a couple of these
issues in this month’s column.
Focus on Competition - 2005/01
ANOTHER MONTH has flown by. By
the time you read this, the new Competition
Regulations will be available on the AMA
Web site. Remember that this is the
“official” version of the rule book.
The new Rules Change Cycle has also
started; this means we are now accepting
Rules Change Proposals for the new cycle.
This process will be continuous until
September 30, 2005. No proposals will be
accepted after that postmark date.
Focus on Competition - 2006/04
I’VE JUST RETURNED from an AMA
Frequency Committee meeting. We hosted
the meeting in Champaign, Illinois—
home of Hobbico and Horizon Hobby and
for this past weekend the E-Fest. This was
a large indoor radio-control flying event
hosted by Great Planes.
Technical Review: Horizon Hobby Spektrum DX6/AR6000 System - 2006/04
THE DX6 from Spektrum RC (distributed by Horizon Hobby) is one
of the newest entries into radio systems made specifically for park flyer
and mini/micro helicopter use. However, that is where any similarity to
other radio systems ends. The DX6 is the first mass-market radiocontrol
system for air to utilize the 2.4 GHz band and spread spectrum
technology!
