FRANKLIN COUNTY RC CLUB (FCRCC) President Ted Toothmaker contacted me in June about a unique event the club was having in August. I thought I had just about attended every type of charitable event to benefit a particular cause. Well, the FCRCC event, Flying for Food, was certainly different.
District I - 2014/11
On July 13, 2014, the NCRCC held its 19th annual Dawn Patrol Fly-In at the club field in Ellington, Connecticut. The event is for Giant Scale World War I aircraft, although we welcome Golden Age aircraft from the 1930s. The event is second only to the Rhinebeck WW I Jamboree on the East Coast.

In 2012, Associate Vice President Ray LaBonte formed a partnership with Horizon Hobby to sponsor the Horizon Air Meet in conjunction with the Maine Jet Rally. This union resulted in the largest RC ground and air show extravaganza we have had in New England.
District I
The Rhode Island National Guard Airshow returned to Quonset, Rhode Island May 17-18 after being canceled last year because of the sequester. This is one of the top air shows in the US, drawing 70,000-90,000 visitors each day.
