District I 2014/07
Many of us enjoy all facets of aeromodeling and although we participate in local events, it’s always exciting to attend a few premier events before the start of our district flying season. The day after Associate Vice President (AVP) Steve Brehm and I returned from the Toledo R/C Expo, Steve drove to his favorite event in Georgia and sent us the following report.
District I 2014/06
AVP Steve Brehm and I attended the 60th anniversary of the Weak Signals’ Toledo R/C Model Expo. The event continued its tradition of being the largest and longest-running RC show in North America, attracting nearly 8,000 hobbyists.

I am often asked to speak at AMA membership meetings during AMA Expo, the Westchester Radio Aero Modelers Show, and Joe Nall Week. The topic this year is the purpose and status of AMA’s Advanced Flight Systems Committee (AFSC). With few district activities at this time of year, I thought district members might like to read about the AFSC in this column.

THE NORTHERN CONNECTICUT RC Club (NCRCC) is one of AMA’s most active clubs, annually sponsoring multiple flying events and an auction. Dennis Thibodeau, the club’s CD for warbird events, was nice enough to author the following event report for this column.

The Trumbull Indian Ledge R/C Club (TILRCC) has held float-flies in the spring and fall for approximately 30 years. It is one of the oldest AMA clubs in Connecticut, incorporated in the 1950s. This event report comes from associate vice president (AVP) Andrew Figlar.
