Scratch Foamy - 2010/05
IN 2003 and 2004 I authored 10 installments
of the 31-part “From the Ground Up” series
that was published in MA. The sequence
of articles reads like a book and takes a
new (beginner) modeler from square one
up through his or her first RC model
flights.
As part of that series I came up with a
design I called the “Scratch-One,” which
was an ultra-simple trainer design that
was intended to be a first-time
construction project. The popular “From
the Ground Up” features are still posted
on the AMA Web site.

Frequently Asked Questions 2008/05
Q344: “I read your Q/A #316 concerning
the use of Li-Poly batteries in RC
transmitters. I recognize that allowing the
battery voltage to fall too low will ruin that
type battery. But a technically inclined
friend of mine just mentioned a new Sanyo
battery type that might have application for
our RC systems. I believe it is known as
‘Eneloop.’ What can you tell us about
this?”
Plane Talk: ParkZone F-27C Stryker RTF 2008/05
THE PARKZONE F-27C Stryker is
probably one of the most complete electricpowered
RTFs on the RC hobby market.
This all-foam, delta-wing aircraft is offered
in two versions, one of which is the full-up
RTF (catalog item PKZ4200). It comes with
an almost completely assembled airframe,
factory-installed RC and electric power
systems, battery, charger, RC transmitter,
and batteries for that transmitter
