District II - 2006/11
ON JUNE 25, 2006, my wife and I were
invited to attend the Camden Cloudbusters’
field-improvement dedication/club
picnic/introduction-to-model-aviation day
involving a local Cub Scout pack.
President’s Perspective - 2011/05
The AMA’s Congressional
Awareness Campaign, launched in
late February, resulted in more
than 80,000 letters sent to elected
representatives during its first three
weeks. The purpose of the campaign was
to make Congress aware of the positive
value of model aviation as a wholesome,
recreational family activity.
President's Perspective - 2008/08
It’s been a busy month. The annual Joe
Nall Giant Scale Fly-In is one of the
premier modeling events in the country.
The fly-in continues to grow, this year
drawing more than 600 pilots and thousands
of spectators to Triple Tree Aerodrome in
Woodruff, South Carolina.
View from HQ-2011/08
Model aviation and AMA lost an
icon and legend on June 7, 2011,
with the passing of Maynard Hill.
President’s Perspective-2010/09
AMA has received a number of calls
and e-mails this summer from
members asking about the FAA
TFRs that seem to be popping up, regularly,
all across the country.
