President’s Perspective
The past several weeks have been busy
and I have a number of good things to
tell you about this month.
I attended a luncheon in Washington D.C.
where AMA’s Education Committee
chairperson, Dr. Gordon Schimmel, was
presented with the 2009 Mervin K. Strickler Jr.
Aerospace Education Leadership Award by the
National Coalition for Aviation Education
(NCAE) for his work with AMA’s education
outreach programs. Recipients are selected
based on significant contributions or
noteworthy achievements they have made in
the aviation- and aerospace-education fields.
President’s Perspective - 2011/02
The FAA process to create regulation
for the operation of small unmanned
aircraft systems (sUAS) continues into
2011. There has been much speculation about
what will be contained in the sUAS proposed
ruling that is scheduled to be released as a
notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM)
sometime in the summer of 2011.
District II Report - 2003/04
BY NOW most of us should be knee-deep
in winter building projects. Keep pluggin’
away on them. Spring is right around the
corner.
President’s Perspective - 2009/09

AMA News: District II-2007/02
I HOPE everyone had a nice holiday season
and that 2007 is off to a good start for you.
Most of this month’s column will be
devoted to providing you with a report
submitted by Bill Poythress, District II
associate vice president, and written by Tom
Polapink. It highlights a milestone event
hosted by one of our district’s premier clubs.
