Mico- Flying

THE NEAT (Northeast Electric Aircraft Technology) Fair has
always been one of my favorite aeromodeling gatherings of the year. I
look forward to visiting with friends, experiencing the beautiful flying
site, and seeing the latest developments in electric-powered models!
This year’s NEAT Fair was held September 17-20, at the Peaceful
Valley Campsite in Shinhopple, New York. The event’s indoor night
had to be canceled because of construction in the nearby Downsville
school’s gym.

round stickers, attach the small metal
washer to the balloon, approximately
2 inches behind the gondola. Add the
magnets as needed to achieve neutral
buoyancy. Now it’s time to fly!

Micro-Flying - 2009/11

AT THE 2007 NEAT (Northeast Electric
Aircraft Technology) Fair, I had the
opportunity to fly Nick Leichty’s micro
Acrobat three-channel model that featured
two aileron in-hinge actuators for positive
aileron control. It was the first model I had
operated that actually flew well using
actuators to power the
ailerons. It rolled effortlessly,
