Review ECOM RC Stinson Reliant SR-9 - 2012/10
An affordable Giant Scale offering of an aviation classic
When I review a Scale model, I
generally offer some history;
however, this is quite an
involved review, so I’m going to get
straight to it. I will ask that you read
the fl ying portion of this review fi rst
so you’ll understand how good this
ECOMRC Stinson SR-9 ARF is when
it’s finished.
Power Switch: FS One Flight Simulator - 2007/10
An outstanding tool for making the "oops" and honing the skills
FLIGHT-SIMULATION software has come a long way. It seems
that not long ago airplanes were simple stick figures filled in with
solid colors. Today’s simulators offer photorealistic models and
scenery.
Product Review - 2004/07
THE GEE BEE R-1 Super Sportster has one
of the most unique airplane shapes in history.
With a fat fuselage wrapped around a huge
radial engine, a red-and-white color scheme,
a canopy barely big enough for a head to fit
into, practically no vertical fin, and large
wheel pants, it is a shape that is not easily
forgotten.
Review: Great Planes Super Stearman EP ARF - 2012/03
Originally designed as a military trainer in the 1930s, the Stearman’s fl ight
characteristics and ruggedness have made it a mainstay of air shows and
barnstomers for decades. The aircraft is so popular that you would be hardpressed
to attend an airshow where one didn’t appear.
Product Review 2003/11
IT DOESN’T TAKE a rocket scientist to
figure out what this model was designed
for: extreme 3-D flight. The U-Can-Do 3D
is marketed as an airplane that makes it
easy to learn all of today’s wild
maneuvers: hovering, Torque Rolls, etc.
I’m not a 3-Der at heart, but I’m going to
see what this model can do.
