Plane Talk: Sig Manufacturing Messerschmitt Bf 109 ARF - 2009/08

THE BF 109 WAS a major player in
World War II. More than 30,000 were
built before the end of the conflict. This
mount was the favorite of many German
aces, including Erich Hartmann, Hans-
Joachim Marseille, and Adolf Galland.
The series proved to be so resilient and
robust that it was produced (in Spain
under license as “Buchons”) 10 years
after the war in Europe had concluded.

Product Review 2003/04

THE NORTH AMERICAN P-51D
Mustang is one of those designs that hardly
needs an introduction. As popular as it is,
you would expect to see Mustangs in the
same numbers as other popular designs,
such as the Piper Cub or the Extra 300. Until
recently, a Mustang kit either looked great
or flew great—never both. It’s a design that
doesn’t translate well into a smaller version.

Product Review: Hangar 9 Twist 3D 40 ARF - 2005/01

THE TWIST 3D 40 ARF is advertised as
an exciting 40-size airplane that is capable
of sport and extreme 3-D performance and
an excellent, unintimidating fun flier to
putter with on the weekends.
For convenient storage and transport to
the flying field, the wing was designed to
be removed quickly. The tail-mounted
servos offered short and stiff linkages. And
the Twist could easily be adapted to
electric power, using a Hacker brushless
motor and the installation instructions
provided.
