AMA News: District I-2007/03
FOR 16 years, I have directed my club’s
air show and fun-fly, on the last weekend
in July. My friend Jim McCormack,
International Miniature Aircraft
Association (IMAA) assistant director, has
invited me to the Otis Giants Air Show in
Falmouth, Massachusetts, on the same
weekend each year. Finally, my event took
place a week earlier and with District I
Safety Director Les Watson, I had the
pleasure of attending another of New
England’s finest events.

THE SOUTH SHORE Radio Control Club
(SSRCC) held its annual Great New
England Scale Contest on August 14, 2005.
The day began with four National Guard
members raising an American flag that had
been flown over the USS Arizona Memorial
at Pearl Harbor.
District I Report - 2009/10
INVITING LOCAL RESIDENTS and
community leaders to club air-show
demonstrations and engaging them in
buddy-box flying is the best way to ensure
the retention of flying sites. Club vice
president, Bob Mandeville, sent me the
following event report

THE INTERNATIONAL Miniature
Aircraft Association (IMAA) Mini-Fest is
one great event. I haven’t been able to
attend for the past four years because each
year I am in New Hampshire at a family
reunion.

THE SPORT OF aeromodeling began with
