District III Report - 2004/09

Is moving to Florida District III’s loss
and District Five’s gain? Before leaving the
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area, Harry Geyer
made a donation of incredible value to
AMA’s National Model Aviation Museum.
Our newly minted AVP, Leo Rodriguez,
was at the send-off dinner and accepted the
treasure on behalf of the Academy.

“ON AUGUST 13, 2005 the Thermal-G
‘Eagles’ RC club proudly held its Ninth
Annual Model Air Show, and we wanted to
share the news with you. In 1995, the
Eagles first held a fun fly-in for radiocontrol
pilots in northwestern Pennsylvania,
northeast Ohio, and southwest New York.
Only a handful of fliers—most of them
from our club—and about twice that

following great information.

largest shopping area within 70 or more

The ninth annual Wings Full of Wishes RC
Air Show and Car Cruise, to benefit the
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater
Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia,
was held at the Hazleton Municipal Airport.
Although moving to a new venue first created
difficulty, in the end it made it possible to add
full-scale aircraft to the event.

SEVERAL YEARS AGO I was fortunate to
meet an avid modeler in Pittsburgh named
Clyde Stacy. Clyde’s cheerful personality and
creative mind helped him become one of the
leaders in the Pittsburgh ARCS. His
modeling activity included his son Ray.
Unfortunately, Clyde is no longer with us but
Ray is hard at work with the family tradition.
