THERE IS MUCH to report this month, so
I’ll jump right into it.
District VIII - 2010/09
I HAVE EFFECTED a huge change in the
District VIII staff! Doug “Chief” Powell, who
has been an associate vice president (AVP)
and Contest Coordinator for at least a dozen
years, asked me to replace him as AVP.
District VIII - 2012/02
ELECTION RESULTS are in and new
AMA President Bob Brown, and Executive
Vice President (EVP) Gary Fitch will be
joined on the Executive Council by some
new members.
District VIII - 2011/04
THE 2011 AMA EXPO in January was a
success. Attendance appeared to me to be
about the same as it has been the past four
years, and the enthusiasm of the youngsters
in the make-and-take area was incredible
and the guest speakers were excellent.
District VIII Report - 2010/06
AS THE ARMY, Fort Sam Houston (the
birthplace of military flight), and San
Antonio, Texas, celebrated the 100th
anniversary of military aviation, the San
Antonio Prop Busters (SAPB) club was
contacted to participate in a day of
celebration at the Institute of Texan
Cultures, which is a museum in San
Antonio. Through its collections, exhibits,
and programs, the facility serves as a forum
for the understanding and appreciation of
Texas and Texans.
