AMA News: District VIII - 2008/02
AS I WRITE THIS, most modelers are
experiencing snow and freezing weather.
Building and indoor flying are the way most
pursue their hobby during that time.
For those new to modeling, I challenge
you to take up building as a very enjoyable
part of our hobby. ARFs get you flying
quickly with a generally good looking/flying
airplane, but you miss out on the real
satisfaction of having your creation in the air
for the first time. It gives you an adrenalin
rush like no other if you will just try it.
AMA News District VIII - 2007/06
SUMMER IS upon us and everyone in the
district is busy with flying and building.
I have done more flying in the last month
than I normally do in three months! I had
my grandsons here in San Antonio, Texas,
for spring break and they had great days of
flying.

I AM WRITING this in January so I am
beginning my third year in office. It has
been an honor and privilege to represent
District VIII on the Executive Council of
our great organization.
District VIII - 2011/06
ONCE AGAIN I have been overwhelmed
by things happening in the last month and
unable to attend district activities and events.
District VIII - 2008/08
His name is Britton May and he is the 16-
year-old brother of the 19-year-old CD,
Reegan May.
Britton is a budding helicopter pilot,
flying a Blade CX2. He does okay with it
but the amazing thing is that he was born
with severe medical problems and has
undergone at least 14 surgeries just to make
sure he survives. That has left him with
some lifelong challenges but he meets them
head on and has the greatest personality and
outlook.
Guys such as Britton make me feel good
and make modeling more enjoyable.
