District X Report - 2004/09

If you’ve ever served on a nominating
committee, you know how hard it is to find
individuals with the time, skills, and ability,
and who are willing to serve as club officers.
We all know how important these positions
are and how critical it is to our club to find
accomplished and competent leaders, but for
most of us time is a precious commodity.
After all, we got into this hobby to get away
from the stresses of our everyday lives, and
more important to have fun!

District X - 2006/03

OCTOBER 9-14, 2005, the Society of
Antique Modelers (SAM) Championships
returned to El Dorado Dry Lake near
Boulder City, Nevada, 20 miles south of Las
Vegas. Unlike the 2001 SAM Champs, this
year’s event was blessed with great weather
and the lake remained “dry.” This was truly
an international event and modelers came
from as far away as Europe, Australia, and
the British Isles.
