ON SATURDAY, February 21, 2009,
modeling history was made in the great state
of West Virginia. The first ever WV R/C
Hobbies and Modeling Exposition was held at
the Charleston National Guard Armory.

memorial.
Richard A. Fano: 1933-2007
There are leaders, there are followers, and
then there are inspirations. Dick “Pop” Fano
of Canton, Ohio, falls in this category. Those
of us who were fortunate to have known Dick
will agree that when it came to the modeling
hobby, he was that inspiration.
District III Report - 2003/10
THREE YOUNG MEN, Kirk Eden,
Bryan Blanchard, and Alex Feist, did an
awesome job of flying at the Greater
Cincinnati Radio Control Club’s first
annual Moon Shot Pylon Race. There were
102 heats flown in the course of two days.

ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT (AVP)
Jim Martin provided the following reports.
“I had the pleasure of attending an
awards banquet hosted by the Ross Ohio
Radio Kontrol Society (RORKS) club in
Chillicothe, Ohio, on March 8, 2007. I was
asked by Bob Dodd to speak about the new
programs that the AMA is implementing in
the coming year.
AMA News District III - 2009/05
STEVE MILLER, club president of the Old
Town Valley Flyers R/C Club for the last
eight years, was presented an award for
service and dedication to the club. Steve has
helped relocate the AMA chartered club from
one property to another. His primary focus
was to convince landowners that the club is a
positive asset to the community.
