District XI - 2006/07
CHARLES O’DONNELL sent in this
report and pictures about a planned Indoor
meet in Oregon.
By the time you read this, the event will
have passed, but it is something to watch
for next year.
Thank you, Charles.

THIS IS the time of year when many of us are thinking about getting in some spring flying.
It is a good time to do a thorough equipment check of all your models and gear.
I have a habit of making a note of things to do when I leave the field such as a needed
repair. When I am back at the shop I won’t forget to check out or repair my equipment.

“The weather was absolutely beautiful
for this annual event hosted by the Fern
Prairie Modelers. No entrance fee is
required—just your AMA card and a
warbird! This year had 21 pilots signed in
and ready to fly, and since there was no
Scale Masters judging calibration, the flying
started early.

I JUST RETURNED from the Emerald Air
Corps (EAC) Annual Pattern Contest held at
Walker Field, just south of Creswell,
Oregon.
The McClellan family and friends have
managed and served as CDs for the contest
for 25 consecutive years—providing a fun
time and great food.
District XI Report - 2003/07
SAFETY FIRST: Two years ago I
suggested to our club that we might
consider installing safety barriers for the
pilot’s stations. In my travels during the past
few years, I have seen several of these at
fields and have seen them prevent pilots
from being struck.
