AMA News District IV - 2009/06
DC/RC 2008 Summer Camp: The Al
Anderson Summer Camp took place from
July 28 through August 1 at the District of
Columbia Radio Control Club’s field in
Montgomery County, Maryland. The day
began at 8 a.m. and ended at approximately
noon. Our 10 campers’ ages ranged from 11
to 16 years old. This is the camp’s third year.
AMA News: District IV - 2008/03
FOR 15 consecutive years, the
Fredericksburg Aeromasters of
Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the Baltimore
Area Soaring Society (BASS) of Baltimore,
Maryland, have qualified as Gold Leader
Clubs. I presented the Fredericksburg club
president, Daniel Hayworth, with the plaque
from AMA at the Bealton Fly-in September
7-9, 2007.
District IV Report - 2003/10
FLIGHTS UNLIMITED, also known as
Hardee’s Air Show Team, flew its
demonstration two consecutive days at the
Danville Regional Airport, Danville,
Virginia, May 3-4, 2003.

“The Catawba Valley R/Cers hosted its
annual Fourth of July Floyd Battle 2006.
Three-hundred and sixty four days out of the
year we do our utmost to avoid hitting each
other’s airplanes and being careful not to
have too many in the air at once. Midairs are
not what we want to do. Clipping wings are
not the norm, but on July 4 the rules change.

THE WEST HICKORY Aero Modelers
held its annual Bob Wilson Memorial Fly-In
this past August. This event is in honor of a
deceased member and shop owner who
supported the club.
